1. Data controller and contact details
Service provider: Guilin Sanyu Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us").
Registered address: Room 102, Unit 2, Building 2, No. 34 Putuo Road, Qixing District, Guilin, China.
Contact email: contact@tricosmos.cn.
2. Scope and overview
This policy applies to IdiomLink 1.0.0 and later on Android, including Google Play, APK download and mainland China store channels. iPhone and iPad use a separately published iOS privacy policy.
This is a standalone puzzle app: no registration, login or account system, and core puzzles work fully offline. We operate no server storing your personal information. Progress, favorites and learning data stay on your device.
The Google Play, APK download, and mainland China store versions include Google AdMob advertising and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to display ads and manage privacy choices where applicable. Only the Google Play version includes a payment SDK. See Sections 5 and 6 for differences between channels.
3. Information we process
To provide its features, the app processes the following information locally on your device, within its sandbox, without uploading it to our servers.
| Information | Purpose | How and where it is processed |
|---|---|---|
| Puzzle progress, completion totals by difficulty, unfinished boards and daily puzzle status | Save progress and continue next time | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Single-character and full-idiom hint balances | Calculate hint allowance | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Favorite idioms, encountered idioms and revisits | Provide favorites, revisits and search | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Daily reminder switch and time, haptics, puzzle sounds, whether to include elapsed time when sharing, and onboarding completion | Remember your preferences | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Last app-open ad time and interstitial ad timing | Control advertising frequency | App-open timing is saved locally; interstitial timing remains in memory and resets when the app closes |
| Full-version purchase status | Determine whether the full version is unlocked | Google Play channel only: purchase status comes from Google Play Billing; receipts and signatures are verified and cached locally to confirm full-version entitlements. Receipts are not uploaded to our servers. |
| Shared images | Generate an image of a completed board for sharing | When you share, an image is temporarily generated in the local cache and passed to your chosen app through Android's share sheet. You choose the recipient. We do not upload it; the recipient applies its own policy. |
We do not collect your name, phone number, email, contacts, photos, microphone or camera content, precise location, health data or similar information.
4. System permissions and authorization
The app requests notification authorization only when needed. Manage it in Android's app settings; the vibration permission used for haptics does not require a separate authorization dialog.
| Permission | When requested | Purpose | If declined |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notifications (where applicable) | When you enable daily reminders | Schedule daily reminders on your device without passing through our servers | Daily reminders are unavailable; other features are unaffected |
The app does not request location, photo library, camera, microphone, contacts or Bluetooth permissions. Haptics and puzzle sounds need no authorization and can be turned off in settings.
All channels use a network connection to display ads and update consent status; the Google Play version also connects to payment services. The Android version does not declare the Google advertising ID (AD_ID) permission or request Apple ATT authorization. System boot, time change, and time zone change broadcasts are used only to restore or reschedule local reminders.
5. Advertising and third-party SDKs
The following advertising information applies to the Google Play, APK download, and mainland China store versions. No ads are requested during the launch that includes initial onboarding. Later, app-open ads, banners at the bottom of quiz pages, and interstitials when moving to the next question after completion may appear. The app limits ad frequency. When the Google Play full-version entitlement is active, banners and interstitials are not shown, and app-open ads appear at most once per day. Ads may be unavailable due to network or service issues; answering questions locally is unaffected.
| Third-party services | Provider | Purpose of use | Information that may be processed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Mobile Ads SDK(AdMob) | Google LLC | Display and measure ads, analyze interactions, diagnose performance and prevent fraud | IP and inferred approximate location; device, app and network information; identifiers available to the SDK relating to devices, apps or accounts, such as app set ID; ad displays, clicks and interactions; crashes, performance and diagnostics. This version declares no AD_ID permission. Available identifiers also depend on Android version and system settings. |
| Google User Messaging Platform(UMP) | Google LLC | Determine applicable advertising privacy requirements, display consent messages and save choices | IP address and approximate location inferred from it; consent-message interaction and performance data |
These SDKs may collect information directly from your device under Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Each eligible launch updates UMP consent and shows messages when needed. Ads initialize and are requested only when UMP allows them. Non-personalized ads are requested, but can still require device storage and consent where applicable.
We do not provide Google with your quiz progress, favorites, revisit records, or hint balance. Advertising SDKs are included in all three channels; no separate analytics SDK is included. If we add other information processing services, we will update this policy accordingly.
Ads are supplied by advertisers. Clicking one may open an advertiser's page or app store, whose provider is responsible for information processing there.
Where advertising privacy options are required, manage consent again through Settings → Advertising Privacy Options in the app. Manage app permissions in Android settings. Refusing personalized ads does not affect local puzzles.
Google Mobile Ads SDK encrypts relevant data in transit with TLS. Manage or reset available advertising identifiers in Android advertising privacy settings; the exact location varies by system version.
6. In-app purchases
Only the Google Play channel includes Google Play Billing. The full version is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription, with no automatic renewal. Availability and prices depend on the app and Google Play. Purchase and restoration require a Google Play connection.
Google Play handles payment; we do not receive your bank card, payment account or Google account password. The app locally verifies, caches and acknowledges receipts, status and signatures to identify full-version entitlement. Online order rechecks can update entitlement after refunds or revocations. Google's policy governs payment and account processing.
The APK download and mainland China store versions do not include Play Billing or offer in-app purchases through those channels; all questions are available free of charge. Installation signatures and purchase services may differ between channels, and full-version entitlements are not guaranteed to carry over between channels.
8. Data retention and protection
Learning data and preferences remain in the local app sandbox until you clear data or uninstall. The Android version disables app cloud backup and migration export and provides no cloud sync. Actual deletion and backup behavior depends on the system or manufacturer. Temporary shared images are in the app cache and can be cleared with cache or data.
We operate no server storing learning data. Data handled directly by Google SDKs may be processed by Google and partners where their facilities are located; their privacy policies govern retention and protection.
Atomic writes and local backups reduce progress corruption risk. Purchase entitlements are based on verified Google Play transactions. Protect your device and Google account.
If you contact us by email, we retain correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your issue, then delete or anonymize it.
9. Your rights
You have legal rights to access, copy, correct and delete personal information, withdraw consent and restrict processing. For this app, you can exercise them as follows:
- Access and correction: view and adjust progress, favorites, revisits and preferences directly in the app.
- Deletion: clearing app data or uninstalling through Android deletes local app data. Images you shared with other apps are handled separately by their recipients.
- Withdraw permissions: disable notifications in Android system settings or turn off daily reminders in the app settings.
- Advertising privacy choices: where applicable, manage or withdraw consent through Settings → Advertising Privacy Options in the app. Exercise rights concerning Google's data under Google's privacy policy.
- Account deletion: the app has no account system, so no account needs to be closed.
If you need help exercising these rights, email us. We will respond within 15 working days of receiving your request.
10. Minors
The app is not primarily directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. Minors should use it with guardian consent and guidance, and guardians should read this policy.
Guardians with questions about minors' use or information processing may email us. Applicable advertising choices can be managed through the app's advertising privacy options.
11. Policy updates
We update this policy and publish its date when features, processing or legal requirements change. Significant changes to purposes, methods or third-party services are also announced in app notices or release notes. We seek renewed consent when required.
By continuing to use the app, you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact and complaints
For questions, comments or requests about this policy or your personal information, use the contact email and address at the top of the page. We will respond within 15 working days.
If you believe our processing has harmed your legitimate rights, you may also complain or report to competent cyberspace, industry and information technology, public security or other authorities.
