1. Data controller and contact details
Service provider: Guilin Sanyu Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us").
Registered address: Room 102, Unit 2, Building 2, No. 34 Putuo Road, Qixing District, Guilin, China.
Contact email: contact@tricosmos.cn.
2. Scope and overview
This policy covers how we and relevant third parties process your information when you use IdiomLink 1.0.1 and later on iPhone and iPad (the app).
This is a standalone puzzle app: no registration, login or account system, and core puzzles work fully offline. We operate no server storing your personal information. Progress, favorites and learning data stay on your device.
The free app displays Google AdMob ads and uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising privacy choices where applicable. These SDKs may process device and advertising information; see Section 5. Read this policy before use. Advertising consent, permissions and tracking choices are requested at the relevant time.
3. Information we process
To provide its features, the app processes the following information locally on your device, within its sandbox, without uploading it to our servers.
| Information | Purpose | How and where it is processed |
|---|---|---|
| Puzzle progress, completion totals by difficulty, unfinished boards and daily puzzle status | Save progress and continue next time | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Single-character and full-idiom hint balances | Calculate hint allowance | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Favorite idioms, encountered idioms and revisits | Provide favorites, revisits and search | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Daily reminder switch and time, haptics, puzzle sounds, whether to include elapsed time when sharing, and onboarding completion | Remember your preferences | Stored only in the local app sandbox |
| Last app-open ad time and interstitial ad timing | Control advertising frequency | App-open timing is saved locally; interstitial timing remains in memory and resets when the app closes |
| Full-version purchase status | Determine whether the full version is unlocked | Confirmed locally after Apple verifies the transaction; your Apple account information is not provided to us |
| Shared images | Generate an image of a completed board for sharing | Generated temporarily on your device when you share, then passed to the iOS share sheet. You choose the recipient; we do not upload or retain it |
We do not collect your name, phone number, email, contacts, photos, microphone or camera content, precise location, health data or similar information.
4. System permissions and authorization
The app requests authorization only in the situations below. You can change it at any time in iOS Settings.
| Permission | When requested | Purpose | If declined |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notifications | When you enable Daily Reminder in Settings | Send a local notification at your chosen time, scheduled on the device by the system without passing through our servers | Daily reminders are unavailable; other features are unaffected |
| Tracking (App Tracking Transparency) | Requested once after onboarding and the app-open flow, if the system has not recorded your choice | With your permission, the advertising service may use IDFA to show more relevant ads and help keep the app free | The app remains usable and ads still appear, without IDFA; ads may be less relevant |
The app does not request location, photo library, camera, microphone, contacts or Bluetooth permissions. Haptics and puzzle sounds need no authorization and can be turned off in settings.
5. Advertising and third-party SDKs
The free app shows app-open ads at launch, banners below puzzles and interstitials after some play when Next Puzzle is selected on the completion screen. The full version removes banners and interstitials and limits app-open ads to once per calendar day.
| Third-party services | Provider | Purpose of use | Information that may be processed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Mobile Ads SDK(AdMob) | Google LLC | Display and measure ads, analyze ad interactions and improve advertising services | IP address and approximate location inferred from it; device identifiers, including IDFA when authorized; ad displays and clicks, app interactions, crashes, performance and other diagnostic data |
| Google User Messaging Platform(UMP) | Google LLC | Determine applicable advertising privacy requirements, display consent messages and save choices | IP address and approximate location inferred from it; consent-message interaction and performance data |
These SDKs may collect information directly from your device under Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy . After onboarding, the app checks applicable privacy requirements, shows consent messages when needed and starts ads when requests are permitted. Google and advertising partners may process ad information under your region's rules and your choices.
We do not send Google local progress, favorites, revisits or hint balances. The app currently includes only AdMob advertising and UMP consent management. We will update this policy before adding other advertising or analytics services.
Ads are supplied by advertisers. Clicking one may open an advertiser page or the App Store; subsequent information processing is handled by that page's or app's provider.
Disable tracking authorization at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Where required, adjust choices in the app's Settings → Advertising Privacy Options. Purchasing the full version reduces ads.
6. In-app purchases
The full version is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription, with no automatic renewal. Purchase and restoration are handled by Apple App Store and require internet access.
Apple handles payment. We do not receive bank card details, payment account or Apple account passwords. StoreKit reads and locally verifies receipts only to confirm full-version entitlement, updating it after refunds or revoked purchases.
Apple processes purchase and account information under Apple's privacy policy.
8. Data retention and protection
Storage and retention: learning data and preferences stay in your device's app sandbox until you delete or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes local data. If iOS backups are enabled, backup retention and restoration follow your settings.
We do not operate servers storing your personal information or transfer it overseas ourselves. Third-party advertising providers retain information they collect under their own policies.
Protection: local data stays in the app sandbox, with atomic writes to reduce corruption. Only Apple-verified transactions establish purchase entitlements. No system is absolutely secure; protect your device and Apple account too.
If you contact us by email, we retain correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your issue, then delete or anonymize it.
9. Your rights
You have legal rights to access, copy, correct and delete personal information, withdraw consent and restrict processing. For this app, you can exercise them as follows:
- Access and correction: view and adjust progress, favorites, revisits and preferences directly in the app.
- Deletion: uninstall the app to delete all data stored locally by the app.
- Withdraw consent: disable notifications or tracking authorization at any time in iOS Settings, or disable daily reminders in app Settings.
- Advertising information: disable tracking authorization to restrict IDFA use. Where available, adjust consent through Advertising Privacy Options in the app, and exercise rights with Google under its privacy policy.
- Account deletion: the app has no account system, so no account needs to be closed.
If you need help exercising these rights, email us. We will respond within 15 working days of receiving your request.
10. Minors
The app is not primarily directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. Minors should use it with guardian consent and guidance, and guardians should read this policy.
If a guardian discovers that a minor used the app without consent, email us for assistance. Information used by advertising services can be restricted by disabling tracking authorization.
11. Policy updates
We update this policy and publish its date when features, processing or legal requirements change. Significant changes to purposes, methods or third-party services are also announced in app notices or release notes. We seek renewed consent when required.
By continuing to use the app, you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact and complaints
For questions, comments or requests about this policy or your personal information, use the contact email and address at the top of the page. We will respond within 15 working days.
If you believe our processing has harmed your legitimate rights, you may also complain or report to competent cyberspace, industry and information technology, public security or other authorities.
