1. Service provider
Service provider: Guilin Sanyu Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us").
Registered address: Room 102, Unit 2, Building 2, No. 34 Putuo Road, Qixing District, Guilin, China.
Contact email: contact@tricosmos.cn.
2. Application and acceptance
Welcome to IdiomLink (the app). This agreement governs your use between you and us. Read it before downloading, installing or using the app, especially liability limitations, advertising and purchases. Downloading, installing, opening or using means you have read and agreed; if you disagree, do not use it.
These terms and the IdiomLink Privacy Policy form the complete agreement for your use. Matters not covered are subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and App Store terms. Apple's rights and obligations follow Section 11 and Apple's terms.
3. Service
The app is an idiom crossword puzzle for iPhone and iPad. Fill board spaces with candidate characters to form idioms. Play daily, beginner, intermediate, challenge and random puzzles, view pinyin and definitions, save favorites, revisit idioms and share completed boards as images.
No registration or sign-in is needed. The question bank is built in and core puzzles work offline. Daily reminders, purchases, restoration and some ads need relevant permissions or internet access.
All puzzles are free to all users, with a daily free hint allowance. You may also purchase the full version; see Section 6.
4. License and restrictions
Subject to compliance with these terms, we grant a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control for personal learning and entertainment.
Without our written permission, you may not:
- Copy, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where expressly permitted by law;
- Extract, scrape, copy or publicly distribute the app's question bank, explanations or levels in bulk, or use them commercially;
- Remove, block, bypass or interfere with advertising, purchase verification or entitlement checks, or use modifications, scripts or data tampering to obtain unpaid entitlements;
- Rent, lend, resell or distribute the app, or use it to provide services to third parties;
- Use the app for activities that violate laws or infringe the legitimate rights of others.
Shared board images are for personal communication and display only, and must not be used for misleading, unlawful or infringing purposes.
5. Advertising
The free app displays third-party app-open, bottom-of-puzzle banner and interstitial ads. This helps us continue offering puzzles for free.
Ads come from advertisers and advertising providers, and do not represent our views or promises about products or services. Resolve ad-related transactions or disputes with the advertiser. Assess ads carefully and protect your property and personal information.
See the IdiomLink Privacy Policy for information processing by advertising services.
6. Full-version purchase
The full version is a non-consumable in-app purchase unlocking unlimited character and full-idiom hints, removing banner and interstitial ads and limiting app-open ads to once per calendar day. The app has no subscriptions or automatic renewal.
Prices appear on your region's App Store purchase page. Apple handles payment, invoices, refunds and disputes under its terms; we cannot directly charge or refund you. Request refunds under Apple's rules; approved refunds or revoked purchases cancel full-version entitlements.
Full-version entitlements are tied to the Apple account used to purchase. After reinstalling or changing devices, choose Restore Purchases under Settings → Unlock Full Version with the same account. Family Sharing is not enabled. Only Apple-verified transactions count; local progress is not proof of purchase.
Permanent means that your Apple account retains full-version entitlements while the app continues operating. If the app is discontinued, we will provide advance notice as described in Section 9.
7. Content and intellectual property
Intellectual property in the app, interface, icons, sounds, puzzle arrangements and rewritten definitions belongs to us or relevant rights holders and is protected by copyright and other laws. These rights are not transferred; you receive only the license in Section 4.
Some idiom entries reference the open datasets chinese-idiom-db (Apache 2.0) and idiom-database (MIT). Rights belong to their respective owners. We have rewritten and organized the definitions shown in the app.
Difficulty levels are editorial judgments for this app, not an education authority's prescribed idiom list. Definitions are for learning and entertainment, not an authoritative dictionary or exam reference. Report errors by email so we can verify and correct them.
Some idioms originally refer to violence, fear, alcohol or adult themes. They are presented only as language knowledge and do not imply our endorsement of such behavior.
8. Local data and privacy
Progress, favorites, hint balances, revisits and preferences stay on your device, not our servers. Uninstalling or clearing app data deletes them, and we cannot restore them. Use iOS backups as needed to protect your data.
Please read the IdiomLink Privacy Policy to understand how we process personal information related to this app.
9. Service changes, suspension and termination
We may update the app, features, question bank or ad display to improve the experience, fix problems or comply with laws and platform rules, and aim to note important changes in release notes.
If you breach these terms, we may reasonably restrict or terminate relevant features. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling. Completed Apple purchases are handled under Apple's rules.
If we discontinue the app, we will announce this in advance on its App Store page or in the app and ensure full-version purchasers retain their entitlements during the notice period.
10. Disclaimer and limitations of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided as is and as available. We strive for stability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or that it will meet every expectation.
For interruptions or data loss beyond our control, including device failures, system updates, network issues, Apple service failures or your deletion of data, liability does not exceed legal requirements. Losses caused by advertisers or third-party content are borne by the responsible parties.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use is limited to fees you actually paid us for the app. This does not apply to personal injury or property loss caused by intent or gross negligence, or liability that law prohibits excluding or limiting.
11. Terms relating to Apple
You acknowledge that this agreement is between you and us, rather than Apple Inc. (Apple). We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- License scope: the license is limited to Apple devices running Apple iOS that you own or control, subject to the usage rules in the App Store terms.
- Maintenance and support: we provide app maintenance and support; Apple has no obligation to do so. Support is available at the contact email.
- Warranty: if the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, notify Apple for a refund of its purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Product claims: we, rather than Apple, handle claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory noncompliance and consumer protection claims.
- Intellectual property: we, rather than Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging third-party claims that the app or your use of it infringes intellectual property rights.
- Legal compliance: you represent and warrant that your country or region is not subject to a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and you are not on a US prohibited or restricted-party list.
- Third-party terms: when using the app, comply with applicable third-party agreements, such as your network operator's terms.
- Third-party beneficiaries: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement. On acceptance, Apple has, and is deemed to have accepted, the right to enforce it against you.
12. Use by minors
Minors should use the app with guardian consent and guidance, especially for purchases. Purchases through a minor's Apple account are handled under Apple's rules and the guardian's wishes.
13. Changes to this agreement
We may revise these terms for changes to law, platform rules or app features and publish the updated terms and date here. Significant changes are also announced in app notices or release notes. Continued use means acceptance; if you disagree, stop using and uninstall the app.
14. Governing law and disputes
The formation, validity, interpretation, performance and dispute resolution of this agreement are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Disputes arising from this agreement should first be resolved through friendly consultation. If unresolved, either party may bring proceedings before a competent people's court at our location.
