2. Scope
This policy covers the FoliaRead iOS app provided by Guilin Sanyu Technology Co., Ltd. No FoliaRead account is required. We do not provide a built-in book catalog or book sources. You import content or configure sources of your choice. You are responsible for having the rights to use the content.
3. Your library
Files, extracted articles, covers, reading positions, bookmarks, notes, tags, fonts and settings are stored in the app’s storage on your device. FoliaRead does not upload book text or notes to our servers or pass them to the advertising SDK. Exported files and backups go to the location or recipient you choose. Backups can contain your library content; keep them secure.
4. Sources and websites
When you add a source, download a file or open a web page, your device connects to the website you choose. That site can receive network requests, your IP address and any search terms or login information you submit. Source credentials are stored in the system Keychain. The embedded browser uses WebKit storage for cookies and sign-in state. Each third-party site processes data under its own privacy policy. FoliaRead does not operate a download proxy or source accounts.
5. Speech and permissions
Read-aloud uses Apple’s system speech synthesis. FoliaRead does not record the microphone or send text to us or to a third-party cloud speech service. Voices and voice resources are managed by the operating system. File access uses the system picker or share extension for the content you select. The app does not request contacts, camera or precise-location access.
6. Apple purchases
VIP is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment, billing and refunds. FoliaRead does not receive your payment-card details. The app reads Apple-verified product, transaction and expiration information to provide or restore your entitlement. Manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
7. Advertising and SDKs
The free app integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and User Messaging Platform. Ad requests may process approximate location inferred from IP, device or app identifiers, ad views and clicks, interactions, and crash or performance data for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention and operation. The app disables publisher first-party IDs and publisher personalization, and does not request IDFA tracking permission. Production ads use Google’s consent flow where applicable; required privacy choices can be revisited from Settings. VIP hides app ads, but third-party source websites may show their own. 8. Retention and protection
Local library data remains until you delete it, replace the library by restoring a backup, or uninstall the app. Exported copies and system backups must be managed separately. Credentials use the system Keychain and can have a different lifetime from ordinary files. We do not operate a cloud library. Third-party services may process data in other countries and retain it under their own policies. Protect your device and avoid giving credentials to untrusted sites.
9. Your choices and contact
You can view, edit or delete library items, notes and sources, export local data using a full backup, and manage permissions or external accounts with the relevant system or site. There is no FoliaRead account to close. Contact contact@tricosmos.cn with privacy questions. Do not send your full library, passwords or payment credentials. Contact details and message content you choose to email us are used to respond to and resolve your request.
10. Children and policy updates
FoliaRead is a general-purpose reader and is not designed specifically for children. Minors should choose content and use purchases with a guardian’s guidance. Material changes to data handling will be described in the app or on this page. The update date identifies the policy version.
